Chapter 9 - The Family Estate

Eight months later.
Spring had arrived in full bloom at the Hawthorne estate.
The manicured lawns were decorated with white silk canopies, thousands of fresh white hydrangeas, and soft fairy lights strung through the ancient oak trees.
It was the day of the wedding.
In the master suite upstairs, Emily stood before a full-length mirror, wearing an exquisite, custom A-line gown of French lace and silk. Her blonde hair was styled in a soft, romantic updo, anchored by a delicate crystal veil. She looked like a vision of absolute grace and happiness.
A soft knock came at the door.
Mrs. Gable stepped into the room, holding a small velvet box. She looked at Emily, tears welling up in her eyes. "Oh, child... you look like an angel."
"Thank you, Mrs. Gable," Emily smiled warmly, turning to hug her. "Thank you for everything you did to help me save this family."
"I brought you something," Mrs. Gable said, opening the box. Inside was a simple, vintage silver locket. "This belonged to Sarah, the boys' mother. Before she passed, she asked me to hold onto it until Richard found someone who would truly love her boys. I think she would be so happy today knowing you are the one taking care of them."
Emily touched the silver locket reverently, her eyes misting with emotional gratitude. "I will treasure it forever."
Downstairs, the music began to play—a soft, beautiful rendition of Canon in D played by a live string quartet.
Out on the lawn, hundred guests stood as the procession began.
First came Ethan, Noah, and Liam—looking impossibly handsome in custom black tuxedos, proudly carrying the ring pillows down the white carpeted aisle, waving at the guests with massive grins.
Then, the music shifted.
Emily stepped out onto the patio, holding a bouquet of white roses.
At the end of the altar stood Richard. He wore a crisp black tuxedo, his eyes fixed on Emily as she walked toward him. As she drew nearer, he looked at her with an expression of pure, unadulterated devotion—a man who knew he was looking at his greatest blessing.
Emily reached the altar. Richard stepped down, took her hand gently, and lifted her veil, whispering softly, "You are breathtaking."
The ceremony was brief, meaningful, and filled with tears of joy.
"By the power vested in me," the officiant declared warmly, "I now pronounce you husband and wife!"
Richard pulled Emily into his arms, kissing her deeply as the entire gathering erupted into cheers and applause.

The three boys ran up to the altar, jumping up and down. "MOMMY! DADDY!"
Richard and Emily broke their kiss, laughing as they dropped down to pick up the boys, holding them close as a complete, unified family.
