Chapter 9 - The Birth of Freedom

Three months later.
The new villa in Coyoacán was a paradise of peace. The heavy stone walls were covered in creeping ivy, and the massive garden was filled with jacaranda trees that dropped soft, purple blossoms onto the stone pathways. There were no security guards in sight—only a state-of-the-art, discreet surveillance system managed by Leo’s private firm.
Valeria sat in a comfortable rocking chair on the veranda, the warm afternoon breeze rustling her linen dress. She was nine months pregnant now, her belly round and beautiful. The terror of the Las Lomas mansion felt like a distant, faded nightmare.
Alejandro walked out onto the veranda, his linen shirt sleeves rolled up, a wooden cradle he had spent the weekend building resting under his arm. He set it down near her chair, his face glowing with a quiet, profound happiness.
"It’s perfect, Alejandro," Valeria smiled, reaching up to touch his face.
Suddenly, Valeria stiffened, her hand gripping the armrest of the rocking chair with violent force. A sharp, gasp escaped her lips as a warm fluid pooled beneath her dress.
"Alejandro..." she whispered, her eyes wide with a mixture of excitement and sudden panic. "It’s time."
The billionaire who had closed multi-million-dollar deals without ever blinking felt a sudden rush of pure, raw adrenaline. He scooped Valeria up into his arms with absolute gentleness, carrying her toward the waiting SUV. within eight minutes, they arrived at the private medical center where a dedicated team of doctors was already waiting.
The labor was long and grueling, lasting through the night and into the early hours of the morning. Alejandro never left her side. He held her hand, whispering words of love, strength, and devotion into her ear as she fought to bring their child into the world.
At exactly 6:30 AM—the very same hour Alejandro had ripped away the blanket three months prior—a sharp, beautiful cry echoed through the delivery room.
The doctor smiled, lifting a healthy, beautiful baby boy. "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Aranda. You have a son."

The nurses placed the baby onto Valeria’s chest. He had a thick tuft of dark hair and his father's striking, deep eyes. Valeria wept tears of pure joy, her hands gently cradling the tiny life she had fought so hard to protect.
Alejandro leaned down, burying his face in Valeria’s neck, his shoulders shaking with silent, emotional sobs. He had built empires of stone and glass, but as he looked at his wife and his son, he realized he had finally conquered the only territory that mattered.
