Chapter 9 - The New Horizon

A year later.

The New Horizon Airport Terminal opened its doors to the public three months ahead of schedule. The architecture community from around the world gathered in the main concourse, marveling at the towering, glass-and-steel structure that seemed to float effortlessly above the ground—a design made completely safe by the Brooks-Vale Structural Framework.

At the center of the terminal stood a beautiful bronze plaque. It didn't read Vale Development. It read: The Brooks-Vale Gateway. Designed by Nora Brooks.

I stood beneath the vaulted ceilings, holding Leo’s hand as he took his first, unsteady steps across the polished granite floor. Samuel stood beside us, a proud smile warming his weathered face, his arm resting gently around my shoulders like a true father.

"We built it together, Samuel," I smiled, watching Leo laugh as a shadow of a plane passed over the skylight.
