Chapter 8 - The Legacy Rewritten

Six months later.
Spring returned to Lombardy in a glorious explosion of color. The fields surrounding Villa Moretti were carpeted in wild blue lavender and white lilies, their sweet fragrance carrying across the warm breeze that swept off Lake Como.
The grand courtyard of the villa had been converted into an open-air cathedral of white silk, floral arches, and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ancient marble pergolas.
Over five hundred guests stood in quiet, respectful reverence as the solemn organ music echoed through the gardens.
I stood at the edge of the long white carpet aisle, holding a bouquet of white roses and blue lavender. My wedding dress was a masterpiece of Italian lace, with a cathedral-length train that trailed gracefully behind me.
At the end of the aisle stood Alessandro.
He looked extraordinarily handsome in a black custom morning suit, his dark eyes fixed entirely on me, brimming with an emotion so profound it brought a lump to my throat. Standing beside him as his best man was Marco, while Emma stood proudly as our flower girl, wearing a tiny lace dress, holding a basket of rose petals in one hand and her blue rabbit tucked safely into her little silk apron pocket.
As I took my first step down the aisle, guided by the warm spring breeze, I looked at the faces of the people gathered around us.
There were no weapons hidden beneath jackets today. There were no suspicious glances or dark whispers. The crime families of Milan had been transformed into legitimate corporate leaders, bound no longer by fear and bloodshed, but by honor, law, and the strict peace established by Don Alessandro Moretti.
When I reached the altar, Alessandro stepped forward, taking my hand gently from my side, holding it in his warm, strong grip.
"You are my miracle, Clara," he whispered as we turned to face the priest.

The ceremony was breathtakingly beautiful, filled with sacred vows of love, loyalty, and eternal protection. When the priest declared us husband and wife, Alessandro pulled me into his arms, kissing me with a fierce, possessive love that sealed our union for all eternity.
The crowd erupted into joyous cheers, throwing rose petals into the air as Alessandro lifted me into his arms, carrying me down the aisle as his wife, his Matriarch, and his eternal love.
