Chapter 9 - The Declaration on Wall Street

By 1:30 PM the following afternoon, the grand auditorium at Vale Global Headquarters was packed with over two hundred journalists, camera crews, and nervous board members.
Richard Sterling sat in the front row, wearing an arrogant smile, whispering smugly to his legal advisers. He was confident that Adrian would either resign under pressure or make a desperate, defensive speech that would sink the stock price, giving Sterling the leverage he needed to seize control.
At precisely 2:00 PM, the side doors opened.
Adrian Vale walked onto the stage.
He was dressed in a pristine black suit, radiating a cold, majestic power that silenced the entire room in a matter of seconds.
He walked to the podium, looking out at the sea of flashing cameras. He didn't carry a prepared speech, nor did he look at the teleprompter.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Adrian began, his rich, deep voice echoing clearly through the auditorium. "For the past seven years, I have built this company into a global empire. You know me as a businessman who cares only about profit margins, market expansion, and relentless growth."
He paused, letting his eyes sweep across the room, stopping directly on Richard Sterling’s smirk.
"You were wrong," Adrian continued calmly. "Five years ago, due to the criminal actions of a corrupt assistant who is currently awaiting trial in federal prison, I was separated from the woman I loved and the daughter she bore me."
A collective gasp rippled through the auditorium. Camera shutters clicked frantically.
"For five years, my daughter slept in cold rooms while I sat in luxury," Adrian said, his voice ringing with absolute, terrifying honesty. "Two weeks ago, fate brought my daughter to my table in a garden restaurant. She asked me for a plate of food. She didn't know I was a billionaire. She only knew I looked like the father she had been taught to love."
Adrian leaned over the podium, his eyes locking onto the lead financial reporters in the front row.
"Some people in this room," Adrian said, glaring directly at Sterling, "thought they could use my personal life to attack my leadership. They thought that finding my family would make me weak."
Adrian smiled a dark, formidable smile.
"They failed to realize that a man with nothing to fight for except money is predictable. But a man fighting for his wife and child is indestructible."
Adrian tapped his fingers on the wooden podium.
"As of twelve o'clock today, I have personally purchased twelve percent of Vale Global’s outstanding shares using my private capital. I now hold fifty-four percent absolute voting control of this corporation. Richard Sterling... you are removed from the board of directors effective immediately. Security will escort you from the building."
The room erupted into absolute chaos!
Reporters jumped out of their seats, camera flashes went off like lightning, and Richard Sterling’s face turned bright red as two heavy security officers stepped up to his seat, motioning for him to stand up and leave the auditorium.
Adrian didn't stay for the questions.
He stepped away from the podium, walked off the stage, and pushed open the private doors leading to the executive holding room.
Standing inside the room were Nora and Kloe.
Kloe ran across the carpet, her arms open wide. "Dad! We saw you on the big TV screen!"
Adrian caught her in his arms, lifting her high and holding her tight against his chest, while Nora walked over, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"You were amazing, Adrian," Nora whispered, looking up at him with deep pride.
"I didn't do it for the company, Nora," Adrian murmured, pressing a deep kiss against her lips. "I did it so no one in this world ever questions who you are to me again."
