Chapter 10 - The Eternal Crown

One year later.
The courtyard of the Valerius estate in Tuscany was decorated in pure white orchids, fairy lights, and velvet ribbons.
It was not a corporate spectacle. It was not a press event. There were no cameras, no publicists, no opportunistic socialites looking for favor.
It was a wedding of love, family, and absolute truth.
Maximus stood before the antique mirror in the bridal suite, wearing a breathtaking gown of hand-embroidered Italian lace, her dark hair pinned back with delicate pearl pins. She looked radiant, powerful, and deeply at peace.
A soft knock sounded at the door, and Alexander and Cassian walked in, both looking sharp in tailored black tuxedos.
"You look..." Alexander stopped, his usually stern voice catching in his throat. "You look like Mom, Maxi."
Maximus smiled, tears shimmering in her eyes as she reached out to embrace both of her brothers. "Thank you. For saving me that night. For bringing me home."
"We didn't save you, little sister," Cassian smiled softly, kissing her cheek. "You saved yourself the moment you walked out of that house with your head held high. We just provided the air support."
A loud giggle interrupted the moment as three-year-old Leo burst into the room, wearing a miniature tuxedo that matched his uncles', carrying a little satin pillow with the wedding rings.
"Mommy! Mommy!" Leo squealed, running into her open arms. "Look! I'm the ring commander!"
"You are the best ring commander in the whole world," Maximus laughed, holding her son tight against her chest.
Down in the courtyard, string instruments played a gentle, romantic melody as Maximus walked down the stone aisle, flanked by her two brothers, toward Julian, who stood waiting with tears of unshakeable joy in his eyes.
There were no doubts. No hidden truths. No fear of betrayal.
As Julian took her hand, making vows before their family and God, Maximus looked up into the clear blue sky above Tuscany.
Far away in a cold, forgotten corner of America, a broken man worked a silent shift in a dark room, haunted by the shadow of the royalty he had thrown away into the rain.
But here, in the warm light of the sun, the Crown was restored.

Maximus Valerius was no longer a victim of someone else’s cruelty. She was a mother, a sister, a beloved wife, and the undisputed empress of her own destiny.
And her story was finally, truly, happily ever after.
