Chapter 9 - The Family Ledger

A year later.

The Brooks & Vance Legal Foundation for Domestic Survival officially opened its doors in downtown Dallas. The foundation, funded entirely by the liquidated assets seized from the Robles family bankruptcy, was designed to provide top-tier legal defense, forensic accounting, and secure medical care for women facing financial and physical abuse from powerful families.

Sofia stood at the podium in the main lobby, dressed in a sharp white blazer, looking out at a crowd of hundreds of supporters, journalists, and city leaders.

"Three hundred and sixty-five days ago, I was standing in a torn wedding dress, bleeding and terrified," Sofia said into the microphone, her voice carrying an absolute, unshakeable resonance. "I was told that if I spoke the truth, I would be destroyed. But truth isn't a fragile thing. It is an anchor. And when you have a family that stands behind that anchor, there is no storm in this world that can wash you away."

The crowd erupted into a thunderous ovation. In the front row, Colonel Alexander Brooks stood tall, clapping with tears shining openly in his eyes, while Elena held his arm, her head resting proudly against his shoulder.
