Chapter 10 - A Beautiful Beginning
Six months later, the sun shone brightly over a stunning, sprawling modern estate overlooking the ocean. This was the new home Caleb and Clara had built together—a place filled with light, warmth, and laughter, completely free from the dark shadows of the past.
In the beautifully manicured backyard, a large white tent was set up for a celebration. A colorful banner fluttered in the sea breeze, reading: WELCOME TO THE WORLD, ARTHUR CALEB STERLING!
Clara stood on the lush green grass, looking radiant and healthy. The physical trauma of the fall had healed perfectly, leaving her stronger and more resilient than ever before. She wore a beautiful, flowing summer dress, her face glowing with absolute happiness as she watched her husband.
Caleb was sitting on a picnic blanket, holding little Arthur in his arms. The baby, now six months old with bright, curious blue eyes, was giggling uncontrollably as Caleb made funny faces and booped his tiny nose. There was no trace of the cold, lethal man from the hospital; here, with his family, Caleb was whole, gentle, and utterly devoted.
Clara walked over, sitting down beside them and resting her head on Caleb’s shoulder. Caleb wrapped his free arm around her waist, pulling her close and kissing her forehead.
"He looks just like you, you know," Clara whispered, watching Arthur grab at a blade of grass.
"No, he has your strength, Clara," Caleb said softly, his voice filled with a deep, infinite love. "He has the heart of his mother, and that’s the greatest gift he could ever receive."
