Chapter 10 - Sunshine Girls Wear Sunshine
The night ended with a massive bonfire by the lake. Lily had eaten three slices of birthday-engagement cake and was currently fast asleep, curled up against Marcus’s chest as he sat in a lawn chair, slowly rocking her.
I sat beside them, resting my head on his shoulder. The legal battles were won, the inheritance had been legally secured in a protected trust for Lily's future, and the nightmares had ceased entirely.
"Look at her," Marcus whispered, kissing the top of Lily's head. "She's snoring."
"She always snores when she's completely happy," I laughed softly, stretching my hand out to admire the wedding band resting next to my engagement ring.
