Chapter 5 - The Corrupt Lawyer's Fall

The investigation expanded rapidly. With my parents behind bars, the police raided the offices of Arthur Pendelton, the family lawyer who had drafted the forged custody documents. Marcus and I accompanied the detectives to ensure all of Lily's original birth records and my grandfather’s authentic will were secured.

Pendelton tried to shred files as the police broke through his glass doors, but Marcus tackled him before he could destroy the main server drive.

"Get off me! You have no right!" Pendelton screamed.

"I have every right to protect my family," Marcus growled, pinning the corrupt lawyer down until officers cuffed him.
