Chapter 6 - The Lion Awakens
Two weeks later, Khloe was discharged from St. Jude’s Hospital.
Rather than hiding away inside the heavily guarded Thorne estate in Greenwich, Khloe made a choice that shocked Manhattan’s high society: she held an immediate press conference on the steps of the Federal District Courthouse in Manhattan.
Dressed in a sharp, elegant navy blue maternity suit, her dark hair styled into a sleek, powerful bob, Khloe stood behind a podium surrounded by over fifty news cameras and dozens of journalists. Standing beside her was Marcus, holding her hand firmly, stepping back to let his wife take center stage.
The media fell completely silent as Khloe adjusted the microphone.
"For the past three weeks," Khloe began, her voice clear, strong, and resounding through the crowded square, "certain people have tried to spin a story. They claimed I was a hysterical, jealous woman. They claimed my husband was unfaithful. They claimed that what happened in that hospital room was a simple disagreement between wealthy rivals."
Khloe lifted a black remote control in her right hand and pointed it toward a massive LED screen set up on the back of a broadcast truck parked behind her.
"Today, I am releasing the full, unedited, 4K audio and video recording of the assault," Khloe said calmly. "Because light is the best disinfectant for lies."
She pressed play.
Across the high-definition display, the video streamed live to millions of television viewers worldwide. The crowd of reporters gasped in horror as Isabella’s voice boomed through the speakers: "You were never supposed to stand beside him... you were supposed to smile for the cameras, give him the child he wanted… and disappear."
The footage showed Isabella shoving Khloe, the crystal glass shattering, and the brutal stiletto kick to Khloe's side while she cowered on the floor holding her baby.
The courtyard erupted into chaos as reporters shouted questions, flashbulbs exploding like fireworks.
"Mrs. Thorne! Mrs. Thorne!" a lead reporter from CNN yelled. "What do you say to the Rossi family’s claims that they want an out-of-court settlement?"
Khloe looked straight into the central camera lens, her eyes cold, fierce, and utterly unyielding.
"To Victor and Isabella Rossi, I say this," Khloe declared, her voice ringing out like a battle horn. "Your money cannot buy you out of this. Your status cannot save you. You tried to destroy my child, my marriage, and my life. In return, I will ensure that every legal, financial, and moral consequence of your actions lands on your heads with the full force of the law. The Thorne family will not be intimidated."
Standing in the wings, Dr. Arthur Vance, David Vance, and Agent Robert Vance looked on with broad, proud smiles.

"She doesn't need our protection anymore, Marcus," Arthur chuckled softly to his nephew-in-law. "She’s a lioness."
Marcus looked at Khloe, his heart bursting with fierce love and pride. "She never needed protection, Arthur. She just needed space to roar."
