Chapter 7 - The Master of the Estate

With the Vance family dismantled and the traitors within the Moretti syndicate purged, a new era began for the estate on Long Island.
Rocco formally restructured his entire business. He cut ties with illegal street operations, transferring billions into legitimate shipping infrastructure, real estate, and charitable foundations focused on child welfare and maternal healthcare.
The Moretti mansion was no longer a silent, cold fortress of fear.
The heavy drapes were pulled back, allowing bright sunlight to flood the marble halls. The gardens were filled with blooming jasmine, white lilies, and sweet lavender—replacing the suffocating scent of roses forever.
Elena Bellini was named the Director of Estate Operations, managing the property with generous pay, full benefits, and complete respect from every worker and guard.
Clara Rossi, fully recovered and glowing with happiness, opened a private art studio in the east wing of the estate, where she painted bright, colorful landscapes of the ocean and taught painting to Leo and little Anthony.
And Sophia had her own official office on the second floor.
It was a beautiful room with a large oak desk, high bookshelves filled with encyclopedia sets, and a plaque on the door that read:
SOPHIA BELLINI — HEAD OF ESTATE LOGISTICS & SECURITY CHIEF
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when Rocco walked into Sophia’s office, carrying a large, heavy leather-bound book with gold leaf edges and thick, high-quality parchment pages.
Sophia was sitting at her desk, carefully writing in a new notebook with a silver fountain pen Rocco had bought her for her ninth birthday.
"Busy, Chief?" Rocco smiled, setting the heavy leather book on her desk.
Sophia looked up, her eyes bright. "I’m logging the new delivery of security cameras for the north gate, Mr. Rocco."
"You can upgrade your equipment now, Sophia," Rocco said warmly, touching the smooth leather of the grand book. "This is for you."
Sophia opened the cover of the leather book.
Engraved on the title page in gold lettering was a dedication:
TO SOPHIA — THE EYES OF THE MORETTI FAMILY. MAY YOUR PENCIL ALWAYS SEEK THE TRUTH.
"It’s beautiful, Mr. Rocco," Sophia whispered, running her fingers over the gold lettering.
"You saved my sons, Sophia," Rocco said, his voice thick with deep, fatherly affection. "You gave me back my life. This house... everything we have... belongs to you and your mother as much as it belongs to my blood."
At that moment, nine-year-old Leo ran into the office, holding a soccer ball under his arm, followed by Clara carrying baby Anthony, who was babbling happily.
"Sophia! Come on!" Leo called out excitedly. "Dad promised to build the new treehouse near the dock today! We need you to draw the blueprints!"
Sophia looked at Rocco, then at Leo and Clara, her heart full of a warm, wonderful peace she had never known before.

She picked up her silver pen, tucked her new leather book under her arm, and gave a firm, confident nod.
"I’ll draw the blueprints," Sophia smiled, walking out into the sunlit hallway alongside her family. "And I’ll make sure we put two extra windows... so we can see everything."
