The next day, a prominent tabloid published a scathing article: “Silicon Valley Billionaire’s Secret Nightmare: Neglected Triplets and the Mysterious Housekeeper.” The article painted Victoria as a victim of a setup and suggested Emily was an opportunist angling for a billionaire's fortune.
Reporters swarmed the gates of the gated community. Flashbulbs went off every time a car left the estate.
Inside, the boys were frightened by the noise at the gates. Emily kept them distracted in the indoor pool, playing games and ensuring they felt safe, completely blocking out the chaos of the outside world.
Meanwhile, Richard held an emergency press conference at his corporate headquarters.

"My late wife gave me three beautiful sons," Richard spoke directly into the cameras, his voice steady and powerful. "Since her passing, I have done my best to protect them. Recently, an individual attempted to harm them. The legal system will handle her. As for the allegations against Miss Emily Carter, she is the finest educator and guardian my children could have. Any further slander against her or my family will result in immediate, multi-million dollar defamation lawsuits."
Watching the broadcast from the kitchen television, Emily felt a warmth in her chest she hadn't felt in years. Richard wasn't just protecting his company anymore; he was standing up for her.
