Chapter 9 - The Proposal

Richard didn't rush her. He spent the next few months courting Emily properly—taking her out on real dates, introducing her to his closest friends as his partner, and treating her with the utmost respect and devotion.

On the anniversary of the day he had mistakenly thrown her out, Richard arranged a private dinner on the very same street where he had frozen in terror a year prior. The entire avenue had been blocked off, decorated with thousands of fairy lights and white roses.

The triplets were there, dressed in miniature tuxedos, holding a large banner that read: “Will you be our official mommy?”

Richard dropped to one knee on the asphalt—the very spot where he had once realized his gravest error. He held out a ring box containing a flawless, brilliant diamond.

"Emily, a year ago on this very spot, my world shattered, and you picked up the pieces. You saved my children, and you saved me from my own blindness. I don't want to live another day without you as my wife. Will you marry me?"

May you like

Tears of joy streamed down Emily’s cheeks. She looked at the boys, who were jumping up and down with excitement, and then at the man who had transformed from a cold billionaire into a loving, devoted partner.

"Yes, Richard! A thousand times yes!" she cried.
