Chapter 1 - The Shattered Foyer

The echoes of Arthur Vance’s command still vibrated against the crystal chandelier of the grand entrance hall. Arthur stood between his trembling young son and Elena, his expression carved from absolute ice.
“You’d believe a nanny over your own wife?” Elena shrieked, her voice cracking with a mixture of disbelief and sheer panic as she clutched her designer handbag like a shield.
“Maria has far more integrity than you ever will!” Arthur shot back, stepping protectively in front of Maria, who held a thick manila folder against her chest.
“She was planning to drain the boy's inheritance trust fund!” Maria’s voice rang out clearly, silencing the sprawling foyer.
Elena lunged forward, her face contorting with rage. “That account belongs to our family business! That trust fund belongs solely to my son! You can't kick me out of this house!”
“Just watch me protect my home right now,” Arthur said quietly, pulling out his phone to dial private security and local authorities.
As the guards moved in to escort a screaming, thrashing Elena toward the iron gates, Maria gently placed a comforting hand on the young boy’s shoulder.

“Thank you for protecting us, Mr. Vance,” Maria whispered, her eyes reflecting deep relief.
Arthur looked down at his son, then back at Maria, his jaw set with fierce determination. “I will never let anyone harm my child's future.”
