Chapter 2 - The Audit Unveiled

The following morning, the sunlit library of the Vance estate looked less like a room of quiet study and more like a war room. Arthur sat behind his heavy mahogany desk, flanked by his corporate legal counsel and Maria, who had spent the early hours organizing the digital breadcrumbs Elena had carelessly left behind.
“It wasn't just a casual withdrawal, Mr. Vance,” Maria explained, sliding a series of bank statements and encrypted offshore transfer records across the polished wood. “For the past eight months, Mrs. Vance has been funneling liquid capital out of young Leo’s educational trust and into a front company registered under her maiden name.”
Arthur’s attorney pushed his glasses up his nose, his eyes widening as he skimmed the figures. “Good lord, Arthur. She’s siphoned nearly four million dollars. If we file this with the federal prosecutor immediately, we can freeze her personal assets before she liquidates her jewelry and designer assets.”

Arthur stared at a photograph of his son resting on the corner of his desk. The betrayal burned hot in his chest, but his mind remained ice-cold. For years, he had trusted Elena blindly, believing her socialite charm reflected a good heart. Now, looking at the cold, hard numbers, he realized he had been harboring a predator.
“Do it,” Arthur commanded, his voice steady. “File every motion. Leave her nothing to bargain with.”
