Chapter 15 - The Medical Syndicate

Clara stepped out from behind the shadow of a shipping crate, holding a small glass vial attached to a modified pneumatic pressure syringe.
"Looking for this, Thorne?" Clara asked, her voice steady as ice.
Thorne glanced at the vial, his eyes narrowing slightly. "What is that?"
"It’s concentrated sodium thiosulfate combined with a neural binding agent," Clara replied, holding the syringe with absolute precision. "I found your primary batch container in the storage locker outside. If I depress this plunger, the vapor will neutralize your entire multi-million dollar inventory in three seconds."
Thorne’s calm facade cracked. "You wouldn't dare. That batch is worth millions."
"Try me," Clara said coldness radiating from her eyes. "I am a trauma nurse, Mr. Thorne. I deal with life and death every single day. You deal with numbers on a paper. You think you hold all the leverage, but you forgot one fundamental truth about medical science: the cure is useless without the physician."
"Shoot him!" Thorne screamed to his guards, pointing at Alessio.
Before the enforcers could pull their triggers, headlights blinded the entire warehouse as Marco drove a heavy vineyard flatbed truck smashing straight through the wooden double doors of the boatyard.
The massive impact sent shipping crates crashing down like dominoes, crushing two of Thorne’s guards beneath tons of wooden cargo.
Alessio moved instantly, drawing his weapon and firing three rapid shots. Thorne’s remaining guards fell as chaos erupted.
Thorne turned to flee toward a waiting speedboat tied to the dock, but Alessio caught him at the edge of the pier, slamming him down against the wet wooden planks.
"The antidote!" Alessio snarled, pressing the barrel of his gun against Thorne’s temple. "Where is it?!"
Thorne, gasping for air, reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a sealed blue ampoule. Clara stepped forward, snatched the ampoule from his hand, verified the clinical coding, and immediately initiated the digital transfer protocol to Maria at the vineyard clinic.
"Administer it now, Maria!" Clara ordered into her headset. "Two milligrams IV push!"

Across the radio, after ten agonizing seconds of silence, a long monitor tone smoothed into a steady, rhythmic beep.
"His pulse is back!" Maria cried over the speaker. "BP is 120 over 80! Bruno is awake!"
