Chapter 10 - THE HAVEN

One year later.

The sun rose warmly over the lake behind the Marchetti estate, casting a golden light over the peaceful water.

On the grand wooden deck overlooking the river sat a long, beautifully set breakfast table.

Maya sat at the head of the table, holding a mug of warm tea. Her wedding band sparkled on her finger beside her diamond ring. She looked entirely relaxed, her skin glowing with radiant health and complete peace.

Beside her sat Damian, wearing a comfortable cardigan, reading the morning paper while holding Mateo on his lap, feeding him slices of fresh fruit.

Leo and Sienna were playing happily on a soft outdoor rug nearby, laughing as their new puppy ran around them in circles.

In the distance, the city skyline gleamed under the clear morning sky—a city that was now safer, better, and fairer, thanks to the foundation Maya and Damian had built together.

Marco walked onto the deck, setting a stack of morning reports beside Damian's elbow.

"Everything is secure, Boss," Marco reported with a warm smile. "The foundation's new shelter wing opened this morning in West End. Over two hundred mothers have already been enrolled."

Maya looked at Marco, offering a warm smile. "Thank you, Marco."

"Always, Mrs. Marchetti," Marco bowed respectfully before stepping back into the house.

Damian set the newspaper down, reaching across the table to take Maya's hand into his. Their fingers interlocked naturally, warm and secure.

"Are you happy, my love?" Damian asked softly, looking into her clear hazel eyes.

Maya looked at her husband, then turned her gaze to her three healthy, thriving children who were laughing under the warm morning sun.

She remembered the cold rain in the alley behind Rosalie's Diner, the blood on her thumbnail, the grief that had once threatened to consume her soul, and the terrifying mafia boss who had stepped out of the darkness to give her back her world.

She squeezed Damian's hand tightly, her smile brighter than the morning sun.

"I have everything I ever prayed for," Maya whispered softly. "I'm home."
