Chapter 10 - A New Sunrise

Two months later.

The morning sun cast a warm, golden glow over the nursery of the Thorne estate in the Hamptons. The soft, gentle breeze carried the sweet scent of blooming jasmine through the open terrace doors.

Inside the peaceful room, painted in soft tones of ivory and sage green, a solid oak crib stood near the window.

Khloe sat in a plush rocking chair, holding a tiny, dark-haired baby wrapped in a light blue cashmere blanket. He had Marcus's deep brown eyes and Khloe's soft, gentle smile.

His name was Alexander Arthur Thorne—healthy, strong, and thriving.

The door opened quietly, and Marcus stepped into the room. He was dressed casually in a soft gray sweater and jeans, having officially resigned from active day-to-day management at Thorne Global to take a six-month paternity leave—a move that had shocked the business world, but brought absolute joy to his family.

"How is he?" Marcus whispered, stepping behind Khloe and placing his hands gently on her shoulders, leaning down to kiss her cheek.

"He just finished feeding," Khloe smiled, looking up at her husband. "He has your appetite."

Marcus chuckled softly, leaning down to gently stroke his son’s chubby cheek with his index finger. Baby Alexander let out a tiny, contented sigh, his little fingers wrapping tightly around his father's hand.

"Julian called this morning," Marcus said softly. "The board approved the new charitable trust under Khloe's name. We're funding the entire new pediatric trauma wing at St. Jude Hospital. Arthur is leading the department."

Khloe looked up, her eyes shining with warmth. "That's wonderful, Marcus. Truly."

"And..." Marcus reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, setting it gently on her lap. "I brought you something."

Khloe opened the box. Inside rested a delicate gold ring set with a flawless emerald—the exact stone representing the month their son was born, surrounded by two brilliant diamonds.

"Marcus, it's beautiful," she whispered.

Marcus sank to one knee beside the rocking chair, taking her hand in his. "When we first got married, Khloe, I gave you a ring that represented a contract. A business deal between families. I want this ring to represent what we built out of the dark—a real marriage, built on love, respect, and total devotion."

He slipped the ring onto her finger.

Khloe smiled through happy tears, leaning forward to press her lips against his in a sweet, lingering kiss. Alexander let out a soft coo between them, making them both laugh softly.

They looked out through the sunlit terrace window together, watching the ocean waves crash gently against the shore. The nightmares of the past were completely gone, destroyed by the truth.

Ahead of them lay a bright, peaceful future—a life built on an unbroken family, enduring love, and a home filled with joy.
