Chapter 4 - The Counter-Trap
Determined to avenge her humiliation, Eleanor Brooks allied herself with Julian Vance—a corrupt former board member of the Sinclair Foundation who had been secretly embezzling funds for years.
Julian held a secret meeting with Vanessa and Eleanor at a private club.
"Nathan is distracted by this maid," Julian explained, sipping his scotch. "If we frame the girl for stealing a priceless diamond necklace from the Sinclair vault while she's staying at the mansion, Nathan will look like an idiot for trusting her. The board will be forced to remove him as CEO, and I will take control."
"And what about the girl?" Vanessa asked maliciously.
"She goes to prison for grand larceny for twenty years," Julian smiled darkly.
Unbeknownst to them, one of the waiters serving their drinks was a undercover security agent working directly for Nathan. Every word of their conspiracy was recorded in crisp audio.
That evening, Nathan listened to the recording in his study alongside Leah and Margaret.

"They intend to plant the 'Star of Hope' diamond in Leah's room during tomorrow's charity gala at the mansion," Nathan said, his jaw clenching.
"Let them try," Leah said, surprising both Nathan and Margaret with her calm resolve. "They think I'm weak because I used to sweep their floors. Let's give them the stage they want... and let them walk directly into their own trap."
