Chapter 8 - A New Legacy

One month later, the Sinclair Foundation held a special press conference at the grand city hall.
Margaret Sinclair walked up to the podium, supported by Nathan and Leah.
"For years," Margaret spoke into the microphones, "charity in this city has been used as a mask for vanity and power. Today, we change that."
Margaret turned toward Leah, smiling warmly.
"We are officially creating the Thomas Hayes Foundation for True Character—a $100 million initiative dedicated to providing housing, education, and legal defense for working-class families who have been mistreated by the powerful. And I am proud to announce that the Chief Executive Director of this foundation will be Miss Leah Hayes."
The crowd erupted into thunderous applause. Cameras flashed as Leah stepped up to the podium, overwhelmed with emotion.

"I spent years sweeping floors in rooms where people looked through me as if I didn't exist," Leah said, her voice strong and clear. "I learned that true dignity doesn't come from a diamond necklace or a famous last name. It comes from how we choose to treat each other when we think no one is watching."
Sitting in the front row, Nathan watched Leah with eyes full of deep admiration and growing love. He realized that bringing Leah into his life wasn't just a coincidence—it was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
