Chapter 17 - Confrontation at the Docks

Rain poured heavily as Richard walked through the front doors of the dark, cavernous warehouse. Above on the catwalks, Vance stood in the shadows, holding Ethan by the hand. The five-year-old was crying quietly but held onto his courage.
"Look at you, Richard," Vance sneered, his voice echoing off the steel beams. "The great tycoon, brought to his knees by a child."

"It's me you want, Vance," Richard called out calmly, keeping Vance's attention locked on him. "Let the boy go. Take everything I have—the money, the properties, the accounts. Just let him walk."
While Vance gloated over his apparent victory, Henry and Leo quietly moved through the upper structural rafters. Using his knowledge of the building's blueprint, Leo guided Henry to the emergency control panel directly above the main lighting grid.
