Chapter 6 - The Poisoned Well

Two weeks passed.
Leo and Henry settled into their new house in Westchester. For Leo, it felt like living in a fairy tale. He had his own room, a soft bed, a desk near the window, and a backyard where he could run through the grass.
Richard visited them three times a week, often bringing little Ethan along so Leo could play with him. A deep, elder-brotherly bond quickly formed between the ten-year-old boy and the baby.
However, dark clouds were gathering over Coleman Global.
One afternoon, Henry sat in his new office at Coleman Infrastructure’s research facility, examining technical blueprints for a new city bridge contract. His sharp, old-school engineering eyes caught something strange in the supply manifests.
"Hey, Leo," Henry called out to his grandson, who was sitting at a side desk doing his new homework assignment. "Pass me that magnifying glass from the drawer."
Leo handed it over. "What's wrong, Granddad?"
"Look at these chemical specs for the foundation sealant on the new harbor project," Henry muttered, tracing a thick finger down a column of figures. "This isn't standard industrial sealant. It contains a high concentration of synthetic silicone polymers... the exact same chemical formulation manufactured by a subsidiary owned by Vance Sterling."
Leo frowned, leaning in. "Silicone? Like the piece I found in Ethan’s throat?"
Henry froze.
He looked at his grandson, a sudden, cold realization washing over him.
"Leo," Henry said quietly. "Where did Ethan’s baby formula come from on the day he got sick?"
"Mrs. Coleman said it was delivered in a special sealed crate from the corporate medical depot," Leo remembered. "She said only family members had access to that supply line."

Henry stood up immediately, gathering the blueprints and putting them into his leather satchel.
"Get your coat, Leo," Henry said, his voice dropping into a serious tone. "We need to speak to Richard right now."
