Chapter 5 - The Corporate Strike

Victoria Cole was not a woman who surrendered. When personal threats failed, she turned to the only weapon she believed truly mattered: corporate leverage.

A month after Sienna was released from the hospital and moved into Adrian’s penthouse to continue her rehabilitation, the storm finally hit.

Adrian arrived at Cole Enterprises headquarters at 8:00 AM to find his board members gathered in the main conference room, their expressions grim. Harrison met him at the executive elevator, handing him a thick legal dossier.

"Mrs. Victoria Cole has filed a motion with the board of directors to declare you unfit to serve as CEO," Harrison reported quickly, his voice urgent. "She is citing personal instability, reckless endangerment of corporate assets, and an alleged conflict of interest involving a pending public scandal."

Adrian didn't break his stride. He pushed open the double doors of the boardroom, his presence instantly silencing the whispering executives.

At the head of the long oak table sat Victoria, flanked by two senior corporate attorneys.

"Adrian," Victoria said, her tone cool and professional, completely masking the personal malice underneath. "We were just discussing the company's future. The board has grave concerns regarding your recent erratic behavior."

Adrian walked to his seat at the opposite end of the table, remaining standing. He placed his hands flat on the polished wood and looked at the twelve board members sitting before him.

"Erratic behavior, Mother?" Adrian asked calmly. "Or the fact that I claimed my legal heirs and refused to let you control my personal life?"

"You brought an unvetted woman and three undocumented children into the spotlight!" Victoria declared, looking around at the board for support. "The media is catching wind of this! A secret family? A mistress hidden away for seven years? It will destroy our stock value!"

"Sienna Hart was never a mistress," Adrian’s voice rang out like a iron bell, echoing through the room. "She was my fiancee seven years ago—until certain private, illegal interference forced her away."

Adrian motioned to Harrison, who distributed folders to every board member at the table.

"What is this?" one of the senior directors asked, opening his folder.

"That," Adrian stated clearly, "is a complete financial audit of Victoria Cole’s private trust accounts over the last decade. It includes proof of an offshore payment of two hundred thousand dollars made seven years ago to a private security firm—specifically tasked with intimidating Sienna Hart and forging medical records to keep her away from Seattle."

Victoria’s face drained of color. She stood up abruptly, knocking her leather chair back. "That is absurd! That is a fabrication!"

"It's fully verified by federal investigators," Adrian continued calmly, not taking his eyes off his mother. "Furthermore, the folder contains my personal guarantee: I have converted forty percent of my personal equity into a voting trust dedicated to the long-term stability of Cole Enterprises, naming my three daughters, Maya, Chloe, and Lily Cole, as sole beneficiaries."

The board members began murmuring among themselves, looking through the indisputable evidence of Victoria's illegal actions and Adrian's ironclad financial maneuvering.

"You are unfit, Mother," Adrian said, stepping closer to her. "Not me. You used corporate funds to execute a personal vendetta against an innocent woman. The board will now vote on your immediate removal from all executive committees."

Within twenty minutes, the vote was concluded. Victoria Cole was stripped of her title, her board seat, and her access to corporate facilities.

As security escorted her toward the private elevator, Victoria paused beside Adrian. Her eyes were red with anger and embarrassment, but behind it lay the bitter realization that she had lost completely.

"You destroyed your own family for her," Victoria whispered bitterly.

"No," Adrian replied, looking her straight in the eye. "I saved my family from you."
