Chapter 9 - The Grand Wedding

Six months later, summer returned to the coastal estate of the Cole family in the Pacific Northwest.
The estate’s grand garden overlooking the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean was decorated with thousands of white roses, soft silk drapes, and crystal chandeliers hanging from wooden arbors. The sun shone bright and warm, illuminating a gathering of five hundred guests—business leaders, close friends, and dignitaries who had come to witness the wedding of the year.
In the private bridal suite, Sienna stood before a full-length mirror, breathtaking in an ivory lace gown with a flowing train. Her hair was styled in soft waves, adorned with delicate white orchid blossoms.
A soft knock sounded at the door, and the three flower girls entered. Maya, Chloe, and Lily wore matching pale pink dresses with rose-petal wreaths in their hair, each holding a small wicker basket filled with white flower petals.
"Mama, you look like a queen!" Chloe gasped, her eyes wide with wonder.
"You look like the princess in Lily's drawings," Maya agreed, walking over to fix the hem of Sienna's dress with surprising care.
Lily walked up to her mother, holding out her hands. In her palm rested a small, vintage silver locket.
"Daddy gave this to me to give to you," Lily whispered.
Sienna took the locket and opened it. Inside was a tiny photograph of Sienna and Adrian from seven years ago, beside a fresh photograph of all five of them taken at the penthouse last month.
Sienna choked back a sob of happiness, carefully snapping the locket shut and fastening it around her neck. "It's perfect, sweetie. Thank you."
Outside, the grand orchestral music began to play.
The heavy glass doors opened, and the guests stood up as the flower girls walked down the long, rose-petal-strewn aisle. Maya walked with regal confidence, Chloe threw petals with joyous enthusiasm, and Lily walked softly, smiling at the guests.
Then came Sienna.
At the end of the aisle stood Adrian. He wore a tailored black tuxedo, looking striking, powerful, and impeccably handsome. But as his eyes locked onto Sienna walking toward him, his formidable composure dissolved entirely, tears glistening in his grey-blue eyes.
When she reached him, Adrian took her hand, his fingers trembling slightly as he brought her knuckles to his lips.
"You are the most beautiful sight in the world," he whispered.
The ceremony was brief, intimate, and powerful. When the officiant spoke the final words—"I now pronounce you husband and wife"—Adrian pulled Sienna into his arms and kissed her with a deep, consuming passion that echoed through the entire garden, drawing loud cheers and applause from the audience.

As they turned to face the crowd as husband and wife, holding hands with their three daughters standing proudly beside them, Adrian looked out over the ocean, feeling an overwhelming sense of profound peace.
The long, painful seven-year winter was finally, permanently over.
