The cool night air moved gently through the garden, carrying the scent of fresh roses and spring rain.

Adrian reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, opening it to reveal a delicate diamond pendant shaped like a anchor.

"When I walked into that cubicle three months ago," Adrian said, looking deeply into her eyes, "I thought I was just stopping a crime. I didn't realize I was meeting the woman who would anchor my entire life."

He fastened the necklace around her neck, his fingers brushing gently against her skin—a touch that carried no fear, no coercion, and no darkness, only warmth and deep affection.

Evelyn turned in his arms, wrapping her hands around his waist, resting her head against his chest.

"You saved my sister, Adrian," she whispered softly. "And you gave me my life back."
