Chapter 6 - The Fall of Frank Valenti

Ten minutes later, Frank was brought out to the terrace, his wrists bruised from the metal cuffs.
He looked around at the bodies of Moretti's hitmen being loaded into unmarked vans, realizing his coup had completely failed.
"Dominic..." Frank stammered, his bravado finally crumbling. "Listen to me... Vincent forced my hand! He threatened my family in New Jersey!"
"Don't lie to me, Frank," Dominic said quietly, lighting a cigar. "We pulled your offshore accounts ten minutes ago. You received a twelve-million-dollar wire transfer into a Swiss account three weeks ago. You sold my family out for money, not fear."
Frank fell silent, staring at the stone floor.
"I could put a bullet in your head right here, Frank," Dominic continued, blowing a ring of gray smoke into the cold morning air. "My father would have done that. But I promised my daughter I would build something better than a cemetery."
Dominic gestured to two federal agents who walked out from the estate's side entrance.
For three years, Dominic had maintained a discreet, high-level line of communication with the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Mid-Atlantic Organized Crime Task Force—an agreement designed to keep major violence off the streets of Philadelphia in exchange for immunity on legacy commercial holdings.
"Frank Valenti," Agent Miller declared, pulling out federal arrest warrants. "You are under arrest for attempted mass murder, domestic terrorism, and criminal conspiracy."

Frank stared at Dominic in utter disbelief. "You... you turned me over to the Feds?!"
"In federal prison, you won't die quickly, Frank," Dominic whispered, leaning close to his ear. "You'll spend the next thirty years staring at concrete walls, knowing that the empire you tried to steal is thriving under the name of the girl you tried to kill."
