Chapter 8 - The Price Family Haven

Six months later.
In the rolling hills of Chester County, just ten miles from Dominic’s estate, sat a beautiful three-story stone cottage surrounded by blooming lavender, oak trees, and a spacious green lawn.
Emily Price walked across the hardwood floor of the living room, carrying a tray of fresh iced tea.
She set it on the porch table, looking out over the yard where three-year-old Lucy and eight-year-old Sophie were running across the grass, playing with a small golden retriever puppy.
"They've been playing for three hours straight," Emily smiled, sitting across from Dominic, who was dressed in a comfortable cashmere sweater and slacks.
"Let them play," Dominic said, taking a sip of tea. "They earned it."
Dominic had purchased the twenty-acre estate for Emily and Lucy, fully deeded in Emily's name, along with a multi-million-dollar trust fund that generated a substantial monthly allowance.
Emily had returned to school, pursuing her degree in interior design, while Lucy was enrolled in the prestigious private academy alongside Sophie.

"I still wake up sometimes thinking this is a dream, Dominic," Emily confessed, looking at her daughter's joyful face. "I was struggling to buy groceries a year ago."
"You gave me my daughter's life, Emily," Dominic said, his eyes filled with sincere warmth. "Nothing I give you will ever equal what Lucy did that night."
