Chapter 7 - The Betrayal

The next day, Leo orchestrated a trap. He leaked false information through a suspected mole in his organization, stating that he would be transporting a massive shipment of luxury contraband through a secluded mountain pass at midnight.

However, the Leone family was smarter than Leo anticipated. They realized it was a trap, but instead of avoiding it, they used the distraction to launch a direct, heavily armed assault on the Moretti Estate itself, knowing Leo’s main forces would be deployed at the mountain pass.

At 11:30 PM, the power to the estate was suddenly cut, plunging the entire mansion into pitch-black darkness. Seconds later, the sound of shattered glass and automatic gunfire echoed from the lower floors.

"Bella! Stay down!" Marco shouted, bursting into her bedroom with his gun drawn. He grabbed her arm and dragged her toward a hidden panic room located behind a bookshelf in the library.

Before they could reach it, the doors of the library were blown open by an explosive charge. Smoke and debris filled the air. Bella coughed violently, blinded by the smoke. Through the chaos, she heard the sound of gunfire—Marco was fighting back, but he was heavily outnumbered.

A rough hand grabbed Bella’s hair, pulling her up from the floor. She screamed as she found herself staring into the cruel, soot-covered face of Santino Leone.

"Well, well, well," Santino sneered, dragging her toward the shattered window balcony. "The barista princess. Let’s see how tough Leo Moretti is when I throw your pretty body off this cliff."

"Let her go, you coward!" Marco yelled, trying to raise his weapon, but a bullet from one of Santino’s men caught him in the shoulder, dropping him to his knees.

Santino dragged Bella out onto the rain-slicked balcony. The cold wind ripped through her nightgown as she struggled against his grip, kicking and scratching at his face. "Help! Leo!" she screamed into the storm.

"He can't hear you, bitch!" Santino laughed, raising a heavy silver pistol to her temple. "Goodbye, princess."
