Chapter 8 - The Birth of Hope

Three weeks after the trial concluded, on a quiet Sunday morning, the Thorne estate was bathed in warm golden sunlight.

Khloe sat in the nursery, softly humming as she folded small white baby blankets. The room was decorated in soft cream and sage green tones, filled with plush toys and light pouring through large windows.

Suddenly, a sharp, familiar contraction tightened across her abdomen.

Khloe gasped, dropping the blanket, reaching out to grip the edge of the wooden crib. "Marcus!"

Marcus, who was working in the adjacent reading room, was inside the nursery within three seconds. "Khloe? What's wrong?"

"It's time," she whispered, a brave smile breaking through her sudden panic. "The baby is coming."

Unlike the nightmare of two months ago, there was no chaos, no blood, and no violence.

Marcus carried her down to the waiting private medical transport. Within fifteen minutes, they arrived at the hospital’s private wing—now fully secured under Arthur’s personal supervision.

The delivery room was calm and serene. Soft music played in the background as the medical team, led by the same OB-GYN who had saved Khloe’s life weeks prior, handled the birth with master precision.

Marcus stayed right beside her, holding Khloe’s hand, kissing her forehead through every contraction, whispering words of praise and love into her ear.

"You're doing amazing, my love," Marcus breathed, his eyes wet with tears. "You're so strong."

"Almost there, Khloe!" the doctor announced. "One more push!"

Khloe squeezed Marcus’s hand with all her remaining strength, giving everything she had into one final effort.

At 2:14 PM, a loud, healthy cry echoed through the room.

"It's a girl!" the doctor announced, smiling brightly as she wrapped the newborn in a warm blanket and laid her directly onto Khloe’s chest.

The world stopped. The trauma, the court battles, the shattered glass, and the fear vanished completely. There was only the sound of the baby’s tiny breath and the warm touch of her skin.

Marcus leaned over them, tears flowing freely down his face as he looked at his daughter. The baby had a tuft of dark hair and tiny, delicate fingers that immediately reached out, latching onto Marcus’s pinky finger.

"She’s perfect, Khloe," Marcus whispered, his voice trembling with overwhelming emotion. "She’s absolute perfection."

"What should we name her?" Khloe asked weakly, looking up at her husband with shining eyes.

Marcus kissed his wife gently on the lips, then looked down at their daughter. "Victoria. It means victory. Because love won."
