Chapter 9 - The New Foundation

Six months later.
The Thorne Global annual charity gala was held in the grand ballroom of the city’s historic opera house. Unlike the tense, superficial event of the previous year, the atmosphere tonight was warm, genuine, and joyous.
The gala was held to celebrate the launch of The Khloe Thorne Foundation for Maternal Health and Protection—a fifty-million-dollar initiative funded personally by Marcus and Khloe to provide high-level medical care, legal aid, and secure shelter for vulnerable pregnant women across the country.
The ballroom was filled with hundreds of guests, community leaders, and medical professionals.
Arthur Vance stood near the stage, wearing a crisp tuxedo, chatting happily with corporate partners. The Rossi family was completely gone—their assets liquidated, their name erased from high society, and their legacy forgotten.
When Marcus and Khloe walked onto the main stage, the entire room erupted into a standing ovation.
Khloe looked breathtaking in an emerald green gown that swept the floor, her skin glowing with health and happiness. Beside her, Marcus held a eleven-month-old baby Victoria in his arms. The little girl wore a tiny white dress, babbling happily and reaching for the sparkling lights of the chandelier.
Khloe stepped up to the podium, looking out over the crowd.
"A year ago," Khloe spoke softly into the microphone, her voice carrying through the quiet ballroom, "I found myself on the floor of a room, wondering if my child and I would see tomorrow. I felt helpless. But trauma doesn't get the final word. Cruelty doesn't win unless we let it."
She looked back at Marcus, who smiled at her with endless pride and devotion.

"Tonight, we turn pain into power," Khloe continued, her voice rising with confidence. "This foundation exists to ensure that no woman ever has to feel defenseless, alone, or unprotected. We build a world where our children inherit safety, love, and justice."
The applause was thunderous. Marcus walked up to her side, wrapping his free arm around her waist, kissing her cheek as the cameras flashed—capturing not a moment of humiliation, but a testament to an unbreakable family.
