Chapter 19 - Building a Legacy

Six months after the trial of Matteo Fierro, the Gold Coast estate had transformed.

The heavy iron gates were permanently open during the day, welcoming visitors, charity organizers, and friends. Giovanni had used a significant portion of the Fierro Global profits to establish the Lily Fierro Pediatric Foundation, funding state-of-the-art medical equipment and free healthcare for underprivileged children in Chicago.

Jessica was appointed as the director of the foundation, working alongside Camila to bring hope to thousands of families.

One evening, Giovanni surprised Jessica by taking her to the top floor of the newly renovated Fierro Global skyscraper in downtown Chicago. The glass walls offered a panoramic view of the sparkling city lights, stretching all the way to the dark horizon of Lake Michigan.

"Do you remember when we first met?" Giovanni asked, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"How could I forget?" Jessica laughed. "You were a terrifying, brooding billionaire who demanded I pretend to be his wife to satisfy a syndicate marriage clause."

"And I was convinced that love was a weakness," Giovanni murmured, kissing her neck. "I thought the only way to survive in this world was to build walls, to keep everyone at a distance. But you broke through every single one of them, Jessica."

"We broke them together, Gio," she said, turning in his arms to look up into his beautiful amber eyes, which were now filled only with peace and devotion. "Look at what we've built. A real company. A foundation that saves lives. A home."

"There is only one thing missing," Giovanni said, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, beautifully wrapped velvet box.

Jessica frowned. "Gio, we're already married. You already gave me his mother’s pearl pendant."

"Open it," he whispered.

Jessica opened the box. Inside was a tiny, delicate gold key.

"What is this?"

"It’s the key to a villa in Tuscany," Giovanni said. "I bought it last week. It’s surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. I think it’s the perfect place for us to spend our summers... and the perfect place to raise our second child."

Jessica froze, her eyes widening as she looked from the key to his face. "Gio... how did you know?"

Giovanni laughed, his rich, happy sound echoing in the empty office. "I noticed you stopped drinking your favorite Earl Grey tea last week, and you’ve been eating those weird pickled cucumbers again. Plus, Marco said you missed your last doctor's appointment because you were 'feeling a bit under the weather.'"

"You spy on me?" Jessica gasped, though her face was glowing with joy.

"Only because I love you more than life itself," Giovanni said, pulling her into a passionate, deep kiss that made the rest of the world fade away. "Are you happy, my queen?"

"I have never been happier," she whispered against his lips.
