Chapter 10 - The Eternal Dawn of the Palace

The grand double doors of the ballroom swung open, and a collective, breathless hush fell over the three hundred guests.
Alexander stood at the end of the aisle, flanked by Marco, his best man. The moment his gray eyes settled on Elena, the fierce, unyielding don of the financial world completely vanished. His lips parted slightly, his eyes reflecting a devotion so pure and powerful it brought a hush to the entire room.
Elena walked down the aisle alone, her head held high, her steps graceful. She didn't need a wealthy father to guide her; she had her own dignity, her own unshakeable strength that had carried her through the dark into the brilliant light of this day.
As she reached the altar, Alexander stepped down, meeting her halfway. He took her small hands into his massive palms, his grip warm and steady—an echo of the night he had told her she was safe, but this time, it was a promise for eternity.
The vows were spoken under the golden glow of the chandeliers, their voices echoing clearly off the high marble walls. When Alexander slipped the emerald ring onto her finger, he didn't just seal a marriage; he sealed a new era for the Sterling dynasty.
"I spent my life building a fortress to keep the world out, Elena," Alexander said before the assembled crowd, his voice thick with a profound emotion. "But you didn't try to break my walls. You simply brought the light inside until the stone melted. I promise to honor you, protect you, and love you through every storm."
"And I promise to keep you in the warmth," Elena replied softly.
The reception lasted late into the night, the sound of laughter, music, and clinking glasses echoing out through the open terrace doors into the quiet pine forests. There were no corporate hierarchies tonight; the floor cooks danced with the senators, and Madam Margaret sat at the head of the main table, raising a glass of champagne with a radiant, triumphant smile.
As the clock struck midnight, Alexander led Elena out onto the high stone balcony of the master suite, overlooking the glittering expanse of the city below. He wrapped his massive wool coat around her shoulders, pulling her back against his chest, his arms securing her against the cool night wind.
"Look at it, Elena," Alexander whispered into her copper-streaked hair, his lips brushing her temple. "Our home. Our palace."

Elena turned in his embrace, looking up into the striking gray eyes of the man who had turned his entire empire upside down to protect her name. The maid who had worked sixteen hours in the dark had found a fortune that couldn't be counted in banking ledgers. The sovereign who had lived in a cold fortress of fear had finally found a home.
As the first embers of the morning sun began to break across the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold and fire, the shadows of the psychological war disappeared for good, and their eternal dawn had finally, beautifully arrived.
