Chapter 5 - The Legal Hammer Falls
On Wednesday afternoon, Richard Vance was summoned to a emergency board meeting at Vance Development Headquarters. Expecting a chance to negotiate with investors, he walked into the boardroom only to find Blake’s legal team waiting for him, accompanied by federal auditors and local law enforcement.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Richard demanded, attempting to maintain his authoritativeness.
Sarah slid a heavy leather binder across the mahogany table. "Mr. Vance, we represent Mrs. Blake Campbell. This document details eight million dollars in illegal transfers from her trust into your personal accounts over the last decade."
Richard’s face turned an unhealthy shade of purple. "She... she wouldn't sue her own father!"

"She isn't suing you," Sarah replied smoothly. "The State Attorney's Office is filing criminal fraud and grand larceny charges. Furthermore, Campbell Capital has acquired eighty percent of your firm's outstanding debt. We are foreclosing effective immediately."
Before the meeting concluded, officers escorted Richard out of his own building in handcuffs, right past the waiting news cameras.
