With Richard in custody awaiting bail and the family firm in receivership, Penelope tried to organize a charity fundraiser to rebuild their public standing and raise funds for legal defense.
She booked a high-end ballroom, spent her remaining personal savings on catering, and sent invitations to every prominent family in Florida.
