Chapter 10 - A New Dawn

Two years later.
The summer sun shone brightly over the gardens of the Bedford estate. The air was filled with the scent of blooming roses and fresh-cut grass.
Music drifted through the air as friends, legal advisors, and community leaders gathered on the lawn for an anniversary celebration. Tommy Bellucci, now serving as the legitimate head of global security for the Romano Corporation, stood near the refreshment tables in a tailored suit, laughing with Dr. Sterling.
Near the garden gazebo, nine-year-old Leo was running through the sprinklers with his dog, shouting with laughter, his strength and vitality fully restored.
Celia stood near the edge of the terrace, dressed in a flowing summer dress, cradling a tiny, three-month-old baby girl wrapped in a soft pink blanket.
Little Elena Romano slept peacefully in her mother's arms, her long dark eyelashes fluttering softly in the warm breeze.
Vincent walked out from the house, carrying two glasses of sparkling lemonade. He set the glasses down and stepped behind Celia, placing his large, warm hand over hers, looking down at their newborn daughter.
"She looks just like you," Vincent murmured, his eyes filled with endless warmth and devotion.
"She has your eyes, Vincent," Celia smiled, resting her head against his shoulder. "Dark and stubborn."
Vincent laughed softly—a rich, genuine sound that no longer held any echo of the cold mob boss he had once been. He wrapped his arm around Celia’s waist, pulling her close against his side as they both watched Leo playing on the lawn.
"Two years ago," Vincent said quietly, looking out over the peaceful estate, "I thought my life was defined by war, violence, and enemies in the dark. I thought Leo and I were doomed to live behind bulletproof glass forever."
He turned to face Celia, taking her chin gently in his fingers, looking deep into the eyes of the woman who had transformed his entire universe.
"You brought Chicago to a halt with one phone call, Celia," Vincent whispered, his voice trembling with deep emotion. "And then you brought peace to my life."
Celia smiled, holding their baby daughter close between them, feeling the steady, strong heartbeat of her husband beside her.
"We brought each other home, Vincent," Celia said softly.

Vincent leaned down, pressing his lips gently to hers in a long, sweet kiss under the warm gold of the afternoon sun.
The rain in New York had long since cleared. The dark alleys of Hell's Kitchen were far behind them. Ahead lay only light, peace, and a family that could never be broken.
