Chapter 12 - A Dangerous Arrival

The next morning, the corporate headquarters of Costa Global was thrown into chaos. A woman named Victoria Bianchi arrived unannounced, flanked by a team of high-profile international lawyers. Victoria was the daughter of the Syndicate's late boss, and she possessed legal documents claiming a 35% stake in Costa Global, inherited through an old, hidden offshore trust.
"Mr. Costa," Victoria said, stepping into Gabriel’s office with a sharp, predatory smile. "Your father made promises. You cannot simply wash your hands in holy water and call yourself a saint. We want our shipping routes back, or we will expose the historical audit trail of this company. The media will love to hear how the 'benevolent' Costa Foundation was built on blood."
Norah, who had just arrived with baby Gabriel, overheard the confrontation from the doorway. She stepped in, placing herself firmly between Gabriel and Victoria.

"The past belongs to the dead, Ms. Bianchi," Norah said, her eyes flashing with defiance. "This company belongs to the future now. If you want a war, you'll find that New York is very different from Palermo."
Victoria laughed coldly. "We shall see, Mrs. Costa. Let's see how strong your foundation is when the pillars start to crumble."
