Chapter 20 - The True Empire of Love

Two years later.
The Costa Foundation had grown into a nationwide symbol of hope, opening chapters in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami.
On a beautiful summer evening, the rooftop terrace of Callaway-Costa Tower was alive with music. It was a private celebration—little Gabriel’s third birthday. He was running across the grass, chasing a golden retriever puppy, his joyful giggles echoing into the twilight sky.
Norah stood by the edge of the terrace, looking out over the New York skyline. Her emerald ring caught the reflection of the setting sun, but it was outshone by the radiant glow of her face. She held her hand gently over her stomach, which was visibly round under her soft white dress. She was five months pregnant.
Gabriel stepped out, loosening his tie, looking incredibly relaxed. He walked up behind her, wrapping his strong arms around her waist, his large hands resting gently over her pregnant belly.
"He’s kicking quite a bit tonight," Gabriel murmured, his eyes filled with a soft, emotional warmth as he rested his chin on her shoulder.
"Actually, the doctor told me this afternoon... it's a girl," Norah whispered, turning her head to smile at him.
Gabriel froze, a tear of pure happiness slipping down his cheek. He turned her around, cupping her face in his hands, and kissed her with a love so profound it felt infinite.
Little Gabriel ran over, tugging on his father’s trousers. "Daddy! Mommy! Look at the stars!"
Gabriel laughed, picking up his son with one arm while keeping his other arm tightly around his beautiful wife. They stood together under the canopy of stars, high above the city, completely safe, completely whole.

"I love you, Mrs. Costa," Gabriel whispered into the night.
"I love you more, Mr. Costa," Norah replied, as they walked back inside together, leaving the cold world behind forever.
