The meeting at Julian Vance’s private estate was silent—too silent. When Gabriel entered the study, he found Vance tied to his chair, unconscious.
Before Gabriel could react, the doors clicked shut. Smoke bombs flooded the room with a paralyzing neurotoxin. Gabriel staggered backward, his vision blurring as Victoria Bianchi stepped out of the shadows, accompanied by armed mercenaries.
"You were always too predictable, Gabriel," Victoria sneered, looking down at him as he collapsed to the floor. "Your father was a monster, but at least he knew how to survive. You softened because of a woman."

"Now," Victoria whispered, pulling out a silenced pistol. "Let's see if your little wife can run the empire without you."
